
Malaysian Agribusiness Industry: An Overview 2015
In Malaysia, the agribusiness is a well-managed and highly commercialized industry. Industrial crops such as oil palm, rubber, cocoa, and pineapples are the main production. However, Malaysia’s economy grew by 4.7% in 2013, with a GDP of RM787.6 billion. The agriculture sector contributed 7.1% to GDP, down from 7.3% in 2012. Despite the declination, the rising demand for organic products and hybrid seeds offers Malaysia growth opportunities, emphasizing domestic production and international investment integration.
